Haflatu at Takhorruj Batch 12 Roxelana – Islamic Fashion Institute

Collection by @fonny_novriana

ROXELANA

Roxelana was the wife of King Solomon, she was the most beautiful wife of all the King’s wives. It embraced Islam on the guidance of the King until the end of his life. Roxelana had a significant influence on the political policy and rule of the King during the Ottoman reign. She was known as a strong woman and a prominent figure at that time.

The collection was inspired by the beauty of Roxelana and the Turkish fashion style of the Ottoman Empire which presented a glamorous and elegant impression yet kept simple.

As for the colors used in this collection were inspired by the building of Topkapi Palace where the interior of the palace is dominated by the colors of cream (beige), gold, broken white, jade green, as well as turquoise blue. These colors depict calmness, softness and luxury.

To give it a modern feel, I put a few folds and layers on the design. Meanwhile, the A silhouette used in this collection uses materials like Jacguard, net tulle, silk satin and Chiffon with an elegant feminine style.

Located in Bandung, West Java, IFI is the first Muslim fashion school in Indonesia that has referred to the Indonesian National Work Competency Standards or Standar Kompetensi Kerja Nasional Indonesia (SKKNI), while holding on to the Islamic rules and principles.
